And the success of the movies has been even more phenomenal. The first film, Twilight, has pulled in a gross of almost two hundred million dollars in the United States of America. The second and third films, New Moon and Eclipse, have each grossed approximately three hundred million dollars in the United States alone.
There are even conventions that are dedicated to the series, including the so-called Twicon. Twilight has also had a strong presence at established conventions, such as ComicCon.
The town where most of the series takes place, Forks in the State of Washington (in the United States of America), has enjoyed an astounding boon of commercial success as a consequence of the hordes of visitors who are fans of the Twilight series. In fact, tourism to the small community has increased by six hundred per cent since the first novel’s publication in 2005.
